Canada Waters Bridge Handrail
Handrail Creations are entering new and uncharted waters by providing the external timber handrails for the Canada Dock, part of the Canada Water development in London.
Made from Cumaru (also known as Brazilian teak), these handrails are made of sterner stuff and are perfectly suited for the outdoors. The durable, hardy wood put up a fight but was no match for our 5 axis CNC machines.
This development will include over 150 meters of boardwalk and will also focus on improving biodiversity in the surrounding natural habitats. This will be the first town centre developed in London in the last 50 years and we are proud to be a part of it! Canada Waters will serve as a hub for new business and growth, housing and leisure.
Canada Waters has a long history with timber as it was one of the primary ports for timber shipping and even has a statue dedicated to the Deal Porters who were dedicated workers for stacking the wood that was imported. We are happy to provide another link to the past of this historic site with our continuous and curved timber handrails.
500 linear meters, 350 components and boards weighing over 150kg each, we are happy to announce we are ready to send these handrails off to be coated and installed in 2024!
