Free trophies for lockdown heroes
The last 12 months has been tough for a lot of people.
There has been heartache, loss, frustration and depression. But amongst the negatives, a few stars have shone brightly.
Bolton News have decided this year to host an online awards ceremony and celebrate NHS staff, shop workers, volunteers and young people who have gone above and beyond in the last year to serve their community. Editor of The Bolton News Steve Thompson said: “We have been reporting on some of the amazing acts of compassion, bravery and ingenuity in the last year and it is only right that we recognise the brilliant people of this town.
When we heard about this brilliant idea, Handrail Creations volunteered to design and make 12 custom trophies for free, so that the winners can feel as special as they deserve to be.
The trophies were designed by our team of engineers and milled on one of our 5 axis CNC machines from solid pieces of European Oak.
When the trophies were hand delivered, Mark Fry, head of advertising in Lancashire for Newsquest Media Group said:
They are fantastic, everyone is blown away in our company who I have shown including my Managing Director. There like a piece of art.
Each of the trophies were hand sanded, then finished with a clear lacquer to ensure that they last a lifetime.
