Tor Gardens
Residential Property
Our brief on this project was to create an elegant sweeping oak handrail and tapered steel spindles which produce a unique, contemporary staircase.
There are two staircases running through this six storey luxury home in Kensington, with a combined total of over 40 metres of bespoke balustrade. The steel spindles were turned on a special lathe, then individually fixed into the underside of the curved handrail, with no need for an ugly metal rail and saving time on site.
Our expert designers were able to build a 3D model of the full staircase so the spindles could be turned and cut to the perfect length in the factory, providing optimum precision.
The oak handrails were then French polished on site by hand, complimenting the oak flooring.
Our team worked alongside contractors Bancroft Heath and Layzell Architects to design, manufacture and install this continuous handrail and bespoke metal balustrade.
