Brass is on trend, so when we were asked by a private client to make her staircase a statement piece, we knew exactly what to do. Our team digitally surveyed the cut-string stairs and then designed a beautiful geometric balustrade with continuous Oak handrails stained to look like mahogany.
The balustrade was fabricated by our own team, then electro-plated with solid brass and finished with various oils to give a brushed antique effect.
The continuous wooden handrails were machined with individual square pockets to the underside – precision cut for each spindle. Once installed, the 20 metres of Oak handrails were stained & French polished with a mahogany stain.
Director Kenny Macfarlane said:
“Brass and bronze are very popular at the minute, and compliment a dark timber handrail perfectly. We’re pleased to have developed in house processes that we can use to bring our client’s ideas to life”.
