The owners of this extraordinary home liked their balustrade but wanted to remove their metal handrail and replace it with a hardwood rail which they felt would add warmth to the staircase.

When the original handrail was cut off, they had to retain the small stems/pins that the handrail sits on top of, to comply with building regs. This means that our team had to rely on the accuracy of our 3D scanner, but also had to design the handrail millimeter perfect in height, so as to maintain a consistent gap between the steel and timber.
