We were asked by a private client to produce and install a continuous wooden handrail to cap off the curved stone staircase in their stately home. The cast spindles had been installed with a core rail, which our handrail capped.
Our role was to produce a curved handrail in sapele which concealed the core rail in a groove in the underside. This meant producing each of the components on our 5 axis CNC machine and pre-assembling the entire rail prior to delivery.
In addition, our client asked us to manufacture some helical skirting board with a complex mould. We prime coated this white and thanks to our digital survey, were able to make these complex parts milimetre perfect.
The stone staircase was part of a grand entrance and the client wanted two bespoke scrolls making that would open up the bottom of the stairwell. Our sapele rails were French polished to add to the opulence of the hallway.
