A curved staircase is the first thing you see when you walk into this beautiful Surrey Home. We were instructed by the main contractor to supply and fit this impressive handrail and balustrade for a new 6,000-square-foot house on a private estate.
This handrail was made with European oak that was stained and French polished to match the client’s exact specification and provided a contrast to the bright interior. As there was no metal core-rail needed, we were able to maintain complete control of the design.
Fabricated from 16mm solid steel bar and with secret fixings into the treads, our spindles involve no welding and allow the curve and flow of the handrail to compliment the space.
This job demonstrates the versatility of our team- one curved concrete main stair with a sweeping curved landing area matched perfectly with a cut-string timber staircase. Our designers are able to keep a consistent style despite the different stair shapes thanks to an incredibly accurate 3D scan taken to ensure that nothing was out of place.
We were able to provide the striking project in less than 8 weeks by keeping as many processes as possible- including the design, programming, manufacture, decoration and installation- in our team’s capable hands.
One hundred and sixty six bespoke, hand sprayed spindles with a unique “tuning fork” design struck the perfect chord and brought the bright space together.
