Broadwater
Residential Property
For a private residence in Surrey, we were commissioned to design, manufacture and install four flights of stairs and one large gallery. The cast-concrete stairs were to be enhanced with timber cladding and a full balustrade and handrail carefully crafted by our team. Working to our usual high standards, the stairs themselves were finished by others, but we took responsibility for the timber overlay and the complete balustrade, tying the staircases together seamlessly with the gallery level above.
Our bespoke ‘hooped’ spindles – each adorned with hand‑fitted decorative collars – were meticulously hand‑sprayed in‑house to ensure a flawless finish and cohesive look across the entire installation. To complement these spindles, we crafted continuous handrails in sapele, expertly French‑polished to a mirror sheen – the tone and grain bringing warmth and elegance to the overall space.
The most standout feature of this project is the fully continuous curved handrail – featuring no newel posts – creating a fluid, uninterrupted form that spans a total of 30 metres. The end result is visually stunning; the gentle curve of each flight sweeping upwards to where it finishes at the impressive gallery above. This entire project showcases the craftsmanship and intricate detailing that Handrail Creations is known for.
