Edge Hill
Residential Property
At a private London residence, Handrail Creations was commissioned to design and install a sleek, modern balustrade for two timber stair flights with large return gallery landings. The staircase now serves as a striking yet understated feature, perfectly complementing the home’s interior architecture.
Project Description:
The project required a minimalist, contemporary balustrade that enhanced the open, airy feel of the stair flights and gallery landings. Our goal was to create a design that was visually light while maintaining structural strength, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding interior without overwhelming the space.
Materials Used:
For this project, we selected 16mm round steel bars, powder-coated in-house to achieve a flawless, durable finish. These were paired with continuous oak handrails finished naturally to showcase the timber’s warmth and grain, creating a balanced combination of modern materials and natural elegance.
Design Concept:
The design focuses on clean lines and subtle elegance, embracing a minimalist aesthetic. Every detail, from the spacing of the steel bars to the uninterrupted continuity of the handrails, was carefully considered to highlight simplicity, sophistication, and functionality.
Manufacturing and Installation:
Our installation approach emphasises a seamless, uncluttered finish. No visible collars, welding, or cover plates are used – every fixing is discreetly concealed. This method results in a refined, contemporary handrail system that feels both light and structurally confident, perfectly aligned with the client’s vision of understated modern elegance.
