The Fairfields project showcases Handrail Creations’ expertise in delivering bespoke staircase design solutions for luxury residential developments. Located within an exclusive development in Surrey, this project involved the manufacture and installation of bespoke brass balustrades and continuous sapele timber handrails for the feature staircases across four high-end homes.

Working closely with the wider construction team, we combined advanced CNC manufacturing with traditional craftsmanship to produce elegant staircase components that complemented the contemporary interiors while maintaining exceptional structural performance.

Bespoke Balustrade Design for Luxury Homes

A defining feature of the Fairfields project is its distinctive bespoke balustrade design. The brass ‘hooped’ spindles were carefully designed to introduce visual interest and soften the straight lines of each staircase, creating an elegant architectural focal point.

Although each property followed the same design specification, every staircase featured subtle variations in shape. To ensure a precise fit, we carried out detailed 3D surveys of each staircase before manufacturing, allowing every bespoke balustrade and handrail to be tailored to its individual setting.

The finished result delivers a striking yet timeless staircase design that enhances each property’s luxury aesthetic.

Handcrafted Timber Handrails Manufactured with Precision

Our continuous timber handrails were manufactured from premium sapele hardwood using advanced CNC machining technology. Each handrail was precision crafted to follow the unique geometry of the staircase before being professionally French polished to achieve a rich, dark brown finish that highlights the timber’s natural grain.

To create a clean, contemporary appearance, the timber handrails were engineered with pre-machined fixing points on the underside. This innovative system eliminates the need for visible welds, exposed fixings or a steel core rail, allowing the staircase design to remain sleek and uninterrupted.

Precision Manufacturing and Installation

Every component was manufactured and pre-finished in our Bolton workshop before being transported to site for installation. Thanks to our bespoke fixing system, there was no requirement for traditional newel posts, while the brass balustrades and timber handrails could be installed quickly and efficiently.

Our installation team completed each property in just two days, before our specialist French polisher returned to stain and seal the timber handrails, ensuring a flawless finish throughout.
