Handrail Creations shortlisted for three major industry awards
We’re delighted to share that Handrail Creations has been shortlisted for three major industry awards in 2026 – a fantastic reflection of the hard work our whole team has put in over the past year.
We’ve been shortlisted alongside three other finalists for SME Business of the Year at the renowned 2026 Bolton News Business Awards – a highly competitive category celebrating the success and innovation of small and medium-sized businesses across Bolton. Alongside this, we’ve also been shortlisted for two categories at Insider’s Made in the North West Awards 2026: Manufacturer of the Year (under £25m) and the Outstanding Contribution Award, which recognise excellence across the region’s manufacturing sector.
A busy year for Handrail Creations
We’re no stranger to industry awards. As a small Bolton-based family business turned market-leading, multi award-winner in the field of bespoke timber handrails and balustrades, we’ve previously achieved finalist status for Designer Maker in the Northern Design Awards 2025 and won the 2025 Build it Awards for Best Staircase or Joinery Product.
This year’s shortlisting also comes off the back of some significant growth for the business. In summer 2025, we invested over £500,000 to refurbish and expand our factory, giving us the space and capability to take on additional and more complex projects. That investment certainly paid off, as Q3 2025 was our highest sales quarter since the company began. We took on 130 new projects totalling over £1 million – a 20% increase on the previous year – including a series of new prestigious commercial project wins across the leisure, retail, hospitality and wellbeing sectors.

Winners of the Bolton News Business Awards will be announced at a gala ceremony at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Thursday 17th September 2026. The Made in the North West Awards winners will be revealed at a black-tie dinner at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on Thursday 1st October 2026 – we’ll be there for both, and we’ll share how we get on!
