Handrails in Lake District

We recently manufactured and installed curved handrails to a traditional curved staircase in the Lake District. The client is refurbishing a beautiful 7 bedroom manor house near Coniston, and wanted the feature staircase in the main hallway to stand out.

Our design team carried out a digital survey on site and manufactured a flowing oak handrail including a wreathing volute. Our fitting team then installed the balustrade and handrails in a single day – dry jointed handrails were the secret weapon, as well as the experience of our joiners and contracts team.

The wooden handrails and spindles were fitted using traditional techniques and created enough stability with no newel posts and no steel structure. The results were spectacular. Here’s what our client had to say:
