Old War Office Secured
The team at Handrail Creations are delighted to announce their latest project, developing Grade II-listed former war offices ‘The Old War Offices’ recently featured in the Sunday Times. Currently in the process of being converted into a luxury hotel and apartment complex, the team Handrail Creations are creating the timber handrails for the entire project, emphasizing the company’s expertise in this area.
The Old War Offices is a Grade II listed development in Whitehall, first completed in 1906 and once used by Winston Churchill. The property refurbishment is to include 85 apartments as well as a roof extension alongside the new 5-star hotel.
Over 1600 metres (one mile) of handrails are being created for The Old War Offices, each using FSC-certified European Oak for both durability and a deluxe finish. Handrail Creations will be supplying handrails to all the stairways in the building, including the exclusive penthouses.
Handrail Creations has already made and installed handrails for many illustrious clients including the Houses of Parliament, the US Embassy, Google and Facebook headquarters alongside luxury stores such as Chanel and Hermes, both at home in the UK and overseas.
As the UK’s leading handrail and balustrade specialist, the company designs, manufactures and installs their products for both residential and commercial customers alike. By acquiring a new location, Handrail Creations has expanded its base of operations to 8,000 square feet and are able to use this space as the staging ground for their new designs.
This ambitious move allows the company the scope to develop more products, bring staff back to the office following the Covid-19 pandemic, and continue building their brand. It also provides a space to bring increasingly complex ideas to life, something which impressed the team behind The Old War Offices.
